Enistic has become the answer that many residential,
commercial, and industrial companies need, a solution in managing energy.
Enistic is a completely wireless system with a myriad of features to manage
electricity designed to be used in the most simple operation needed.
With Enistic, a user can get realtime and historic data of
energy consumption on the computer anywhere from one installed equipment to the
entire facility itself. It even goes beyond by giving the user the opportunity
to program and remotely turn power on and off. This can then, in turn, help the
user determine which equipments need to be shut off during off peak to help
further reduce energy.
Enistic systems can be used online with its secure internet
account. The user can thus control multiple sites in completely different
locations at a fraction of the cost. This saves time and money when it comes to
having to physically visit and monitor sites.
Enistic systems come with a myriad of different devices to suit
the needs of the facility. We are more than happy to assist in conducting a
site evaluation
The Enistic Energy Manager

What is it?BBS Professional is an Appliance Level Smart Meter and Management system aimed at medium / large companies. The system provides a meter-accurate, real-time display of individual employee, air conditioning and lighting energy consumption and its associated monthly costs. For the first time, this allows energy saving targets to be set and measured for individuals and departments within a company simply and transparently.
Each of the 13 modules in the new BBS Professional range regularly reports back energy use and supply data to central analysis software. With a remotely operated switch built into each socket, an organisation can then centrally monitor the electrical equipment individuals within an organization are using, and manage that system by, for example, turning things off overnight when they are not being used.
The savings the system brings aims to reduce an organisations entire energy bill by over 10% per year. System architecture
Typical uses of the Enistic Energy ManagerStage 1 - AuditFor the first time, you now have the power to showpeople their energy use on an individual or departmental basis. This means that corporate energy reductionschemes that are sometimes impersonal and remote can now be made personal and local to the individualsconcerned. This leads to a greater sense of responsibility and ownership for your staff members and greatly helpswith the complicated process of affecting behavioural change within your organisation. | | | Stage 2 - Manage With the BBS Professional range of energy management solutions, it is not only possible to monitor energy consumption in the office, but to actively manage it too. This allows for control and management of office based IT equipment such as desktop computer systems and associated office peripherals such as printers, photocopiers and vending machines. With this level of flexibility you are able to start measuring how much individual pieces of equipment cost to run and begin the process of identifying the energy hogs within your organisation, as well as energy sapping equipment which could be replaced with less energy demanding and environmentally friendly equipment.
| Stage 3 - Target, incentivise and motivate Energy saving within organisations is often too impersonal as the only measure that the company really has to play with is the electricity bill from the utility. Using BBS Professional you get an accurate measure of who in your organization is using what electricity and the cost of it in both carbon and money.
By giving people ownership over their energy use you can start to influence their behaviour - nothing motivates more than having items billed back to their own P&L account. If you set targets for the coming quarters to reduce this, giving you precise tools to measure your progress and incentivise success. | | | Stage 4 - Report If you want to improve it, you first have to measure it.
Companies that can’t measure their energy use accurately to individual level are going to struggle with achieving visible reductions of that energy use. Using BBS Professional, staff can see exactly how much the electricity cost last month, what their target is this month and how they are doing with their own individual contribution. If they turn their PC off overnight, they will see the savings in the reports and can take ownership of those savings.
| Stage 5 - EnforceBy targeting energy reduction you can introduce the concept of personal, departmental and organisational energy usage targets that can be incorporated into energy reduction schemes to help drive behavioural change within your organisation. With daily personal reports about how each individual and department is doing against their targets, some degree of change can be affected with minimal managerial input. Linked to prize systems that often give away the Bye Bye Standby Energy Saving Kit (which is designed for home use) the BBS Energy Manager is a powerful system that helps you to deliver your messages about energy consumption reduction. | |
BF Technologies Case Study BF Technologies Case Study
• Worried about rising energy costs, BF Technology invited us to perform a baseline audit of energy wastage and investigate an automated energy management solution • A total investment of £2,896 led to an ongoing energy saving of £1,668 per year, i.e. £67 per employee per year • A saving of 2.4 tonnes of CO2 per quarter is being achieved and the system has a financial return on investment (ROI) of approximately 23 months Audit Results The audit yielded the results shown in the accompanying figure. We found that whilst the management at BF were under the impression that they turned off their PCs every night, a number of fully running computers were found. This is not unusual and was generally put down to forgetfulness / logistics rather than any lack of desire for energy saving. In one instance, for example, a staff member had turned on a colleague’s computer to access some information and had then forgotten to turn it off again at the end of the day. Of the computers that were shutdown, BBS were able to verify that they were in fact left on standby and our engineers were able to use known figures from our databases to quantify the waste being produced by these computers.

The Conclusion The Energy Manager performed well and lowered the base load figure by 2.2kW. BF have minimal weekend working which means in their typical week the system is producing this wastage for 130 hours per week, equating to a monthly wastage of 1,265 kWh and a financial saving of £417 per quarter. The management at BF also commented that they felt that there were a number of non-measurable savings that they experienced as they brought energy saving so clearly into focus for their employees. This was typified by increased use of the recycling bins and increased acceptance of lift sharing / carbon friendly travel.
